Gallery - Day 6, August 21

Our Wise Woman, Val, starts the day off with a cup of green tea in the kitchen.

In Biblical Studies, we told the story of the Exodus. Here, Beckie points to Jacob and his descendents.

Our second small group, recounts Moses' (a.k.a Mac) encounter with the burning bush through rap.

Another group tells part of the Exodus story through drums.

Gill & Tara dance around the centre of the circle as their group tells the story of the Exodus.

The Israelites and the Egyptians clash in another group's part of the Exodus story.

In the Media Awareness group, Jon reports on 1 st Chronicles 28
(Solomon Instructed to Build the Temple ).

Joe, having heard the same story, reports to the Media Awareness group. It was interesting to see how the same story was reported differently by two different people who heard the same story at the same time.

The Science & Theology group, poses for a group picture at the end of their last session with a fractal (…that's right… it's not a real fern... it's a computer generated image) in the background.

In the afternoon workshop, Linda Nicholls, explored with us the topic of Ethics, and how we make decisions.

Pete and Alysha put a post-it note on the wall under the category of environmental ethical decisions, one of the many types of ethical decisions we make everyday.

In this scenario, called the fish bowl, six members of the group role played a parish council situation in which a gay member of the congregation sought a leadership role.

After the fishbowl, the group discussed what that process was like, and
how they engage in ethical issues in their own lives.

At the end of the workshop, we reaffirmed our baptismal covenant with water, striving to for justice and peace, and to respect the dignity of every human being.

Tara, Ashley & Amber meet in the Chapel for their small group discussions.

Our evening worship took on an aboriginal flavour. Here, the four colours are displayed as participants enter the Chapel

Val leads our evening worship.

After our worship, a spontaneous time of song and dance erupted at the back of the chapel: “Sing Praises to the Lord our God”.

Bull with Bill, chaplain at Huron. Bill took a wide range of questions from the participants in the evening – anything was game with Bill!

Bill and Val demonstrate the theology around baptism to the group.
