Gallery - Day 8, August 23

Kaila walks the labyrinth as part of our silent retreat day. Participants had the opportunity to participate in workshops on a variety of spiritual practices (yoga, prayer, meditation through images and music).

A group pauses in the centre of the labyrinth for reflection.

Ashley stops for a moment, while Tara continues at a pilgrim's pace (two steps forward, one step back).

Judy exits the labyrinth as Jenn continues her journey through it.

In the afternoon, some participants, like Beckie, relaxed on the lawn, while others read, went for a hike or caught up on their zzzs.

Mac spends enjoys a time of quite contemplation in the courtyard.

Our silent retreat ends with a drum circle in the Great Hall.

Drum away! Participants break their silence with the sound of drums in the Great Hall.

After the drum circle, the group breaks out in song and dance.

Dance! We sing Rock of Ages in Malawi as we dance around the Great Hall.

It's someone's birthday today! Can you guess who? Hint… she's from Nova Scotia .

Happy Sweet Sixteen Gill!

Mmm…. cake.

Uh, Gill, the cake goes in your mouth, not on your nose.

Tonight our worship was planned by Jess' small group and took place in one of the residence lounges.

Pete and Beckie lead in the evening worship.

Beckie dances to the music as others sing along.

Judy introduces John Chapman, Dean of Theology, to the group after worship.

John takes questions from participants about Huron and listens to their experiences over the past week.

John shares insights with the group about how participants use their Ask & Imagine experience to make a difference in their lives and in the lives of their communities.

Time to pack up! Laura-lee and Shawna take things down, as we prepare to move to Canterbury Hills tomorrow morning!
