WHAT DOES IT COST?
The participant fee for Ask & Imagine is $600.00 for the 10 day program. The fee covers the cost of accommodation and most meals. We pay the cost of tuition and travel expenses, no matter where you live in Canada,
We encourage you to share the participant fee between yourself, your family, parish and diocese. You need to ask your family and parish first and the more you and your parish can contribute, the better, since there may be many people coming from your diocese.
When you have been accepted to the program, it is up to you to make contact with your parish and with your diocese to ask if they could financially support your participation in the program – it does not happen automatically. We suggest that you write a letter to your parish council and to the synod office (get the address from your youth leader or parish priest) to tell them you have been accepted to the program, and to request financial support.
| How you divide up the cost depends on the parish/diocese. |
One suggestions is: |
| Participant/family contributes: |
$150.00 |
| Parish or Deanery or other individual sponsors contribute: |
$225.00 |
| Diocese contributes: |
$225.00 |
| For a total fee of |
$600.00 |
The $600.00 fee is payable when you arrive at the program. Cheques should be made out to: Huron University College – Ask & Imagine. It does not have to be in one cheque; your parish or diocese may prefer to write and send the cheque for their portion to us prior to your arrival. Please make sure it is clearly marked with your name so that we can credit your participant fee account.
The address is 1349 Western Road, London, ON N6G 1H3
The fee is not meant to be a financial burden to congregations. Bursaries are available for parishes and dioceses that cannot afford the full fee. Please contact the program director at director@askandimagine.org for bursary information. Please also contact us if your parish or deanery is willing to help sponsor a young person from a parish with limited financial resources.
Travel
Airline or VIA Rail travel is arranged through our administration office at no charge to participants, and tickets sent to you at least one week prior to the program start date. Participants traveling by car will have mileage reimbursed for one return trip.
We can make arrangements if you want your travel to incorporate personal trips (to visit family, or whatever) either before or after the program, but please do not make travel arrangements without first consulting the program office. If you do, your travel may not be eligible for reimbursement.
