Here's what they said ...
We get all kinds of feedback from Ask & Imagine participants.
Here's some of it:
"'Ask and Imagine' helped me grow within a close Christian Community
in my spirituality, my strengths and with my weaknesses. It also
opened my eyes to the larger picture of us as the church. I have
set new goals as a new and continuing leader at my home parish,
deanery and diocese."
"At 'Ask and Imagine', I have been challenged to lay all my beliefs
in front of me and truly re-examine them. I'm nowhere done, obviously,
but I'm inspired to keep at it!"
"There were GREAT experiences in creating and leading worship."
"'Ethics' with John was so cool."
"When I saw 'Biblical Studies' on the schedule, I was all set
for it to be boring. I was, like, SO wrong. I've never heard anyone
talk about Scripture that way. It was really exciting and interesting!"
"My favourite sessions were Media Awareness and Faith-In-Action
because I felt they related to the modern world in a big way."
"My stomach muscles hurt from laughing so hard!"
"I really liked the silent reflections at night because they helped
me learn more about myself."
"I feel more grounded and sure of myself"
"I gained greater sensitivity in my interpersonal skills and more
confidence!"
"'Ask and Imagine' is an incredible program. I truly believe it
will have a huge impact on my life when I get home, and the decisions
I will be faced with"
"The retreat day was incredible. I've never considered doing something
like that and I plan to keep doing it. (Walking) the labyrinth
was life-changing."
"A
new idea for me is the impact that history has on the interpretation
of the Bible!"
"The highlight of my second week was overcoming my fear of heights
on the high ropes. I felt so proud. I never thought I could do
it, but people showed confidence in me. This activity taught me
that I need to trust people more."
"The program made me see that I would be able to be a leader in
the future. It made me see that I could really get the courage
to meet new people and open up to them."
And in letters and conversations from participants after the program
was finished:
Letter from participant in Toronto diocese:
"...Thank you for giving me, what I consider, a once in a lifetime
opportunity to attend Ask and Imagine. The sense of community and
fellowship that I felt I have never experienced in my life...I
have learnt so much and grown in strength through this program...It
is well structured, the staff are amazing and it lets you discover
yourself in ways that once seemed inconceivable. This program should
be made available to every Anglican Youth. The only qualm I have
with the program is that I can't come back!"
Excerpt from a report to their bishop, written by a participant:
"Of all my experiences and friendships last summer, I can honestly
say that my days spent at Ask and Imagine at Huron College were
the most significant, leaving me with the greatest feeling of change
and blessing."
